The Institute of Forests and Nature Conservation (IFCN) informs visitors that the section of PR1 – Vereda do Areeiro between the Pedra Rija Viewpoint and Pico Ruivo will be closed from 14 to 17 September and from 21 to 22 September 2026 to allow scheduled works on the trail.

During these periods, the full route from Pico do Areeiro to Pico Ruivo will not be accessible. The two-way section between Pico do Areeiro and the Pedra Rija Viewpoint will remain open, allowing visitors to return along the same route.
